From there, you can actually mail the sample off to the lab to determine what kind of mold you have. For benign mold, you can use mold cleanser or bleach and water to scrub it away. Whether you hire a professional crew or get rid of the mold yourself, one way to prevent mold in the house is to keep the environment dry as possible. Also, make sure your bathroom and any other rooms that are usually damp are dried thoroughly.
